Carbon fiber is by far the best choice in regards to performance, but it has a higher price point. Blends can be a great choice for those looking for a better performing paddle, without the price gap.
If this is YOUR paddle, by all means treat yourself to the best, but if you are going to be loaning your board out to the fam, maybe stick with a blend, or aluminum paddle.
