The 'Save Your Weekend' Checklist
Part 1: The "Oh Sh*t" Kit: What to Carry
Nothing ends a trip faster than a lost part. We recommend every paddler keeps a small "Essentials Kit" in their car containing:
- Spare Fin Screw: These parts disappear constantly in the sand. Always carry a spare (preferably a "Tool-Free" screw).
- PVC Repair Kit: Includes patches and glue for emergency leaks.
- Waterproof Phone Case: Don't trust your pocket. A floating lanyard case is cheaper than a new iPhone.
Part 2: Understanding Fin Boxes: US Fin Box vs. Slide-In
- US Fin Box (Universal):
- The industry standard. Uses a screw and plate system. Most of our VAMO and POP fins fit this box.
- Slide-In (Flip Lock):
- Common on budget boards. We carry specific replacement fins for these as well.
Part 3: Dry Bags vs. Water Resistant
- Dry Bags (Roll Top):
- 100% waterproof if rolled correctly. Ideal for clothes, keys, and towels.
- Water Resistant:
- Zippers are rarely 100% waterproof. Use these for snacks, but double-bag your electronics.
