Canadian Board Co — Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Shipping information & delivery times
Shipping
We ship all Canadian Board Co orders quickly and securely across Canada and the USA. For products that are in stock, shipping takes 2–5 business days to most locations in Western Canada and 4–7 business days to Eastern Canada, once the order leaves our warehouse.
Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions about delivery times, shipping rates, destinations, and address changes.
How long is shipping?
For products that are in stock, Shipping takes just 2-5 business days to arrive anywhere in Western Canada once it leaves our warehouse, and 4-7 business days to arrive anywhere in Eastern Canada.
Where do you ship to?
As long as you have a postal code, we can ship your order to you! Shipping is included for free on all dock and paddleboard orders within Canada!
How much is shipping?
Forget the duties and customs fee. We're a Canadian company that ships all orders over $100 for FREE Canada wide and includes all our inflatable models.
International shipping rates vary. If you're shipping outside of the Canadian border, we'll email or call you with a quote for approval before we send your item.
Rigid models can be delivered to all major cities. Because of the size of a rigid board, mainstream couriers will not deliver those orders, which means we send them via truck. If you're wanting to ship your board to a smaller city or rural area, shipping will be supplemented but not covered fully. We will send you a shipping quote before sending your order for your approval. While we offer rigid models for purchase, we do also supply a number of dealers that carry these in person, that way shipping expenses can be mitigated. Check out our dealer locator or send us your preffered shipping address in the chat bubble to find your nearest rigid dealer.
Can I change my shipping address?
Yes! You can change your shipping address anytime before your item has been shipped. If your item has already been shipped and you need to change your shipping address, many of the couriers we utilize have this option by clicking through your tracking link.
What does the ship date mean?
We use a variety of couriers. Largely UPS and Canada Post. While we cannot guarantee your shipping date as it's location specific and we are not affiliated with UPS or Canada Post, we do our very best to give you an estimate of when your item is leaving our shop. For preorder items, this estimate is exactly that. An estimate. This is because we partner with global couriers and the shipping dates we receive are not exact. We do, however, promise to keep you in the loop with any changes in your shipping status.
Do you ship outside of Canada?
The short answer is yes! However our free shipping policy does not cover shipping outside of Canada. That being said, we'll confirm the shipping cost with you before its sent for your approval. We may also refer you to another retailer in your area if they carry the model you're after. While we appreciate your business - we're happy to share the love with another shop if it's in service of you!
Reserve your gear before it sells out
Pre-orders
Pre-orders let you secure your Canadian Board Co board before the next shipment arrives — ensuring you don’t miss out on our most popular models. In exchange for paying up front for a delayed delivery, you’ll receive exclusive pre-order pricing and a guaranteed spot in our first-come, first-served fulfillment list.
All in-stock boards ship within 24 hours, while pre-order items are shipped as soon as new inventory reaches our warehouse. Below are answers to the most common questions about timing, updates, and how pre-orders work.
What is a pre-order?
A pre-order is an item that is not currently in stock, or has sold out, but is available to be purchased ahead of its arrival time in order to secure your item. Generally speaking, pre-order items are our most popular products, and they sell out quickly! Instead of competing for them when they become available, we create a first-come-first-serve order list that is fulfilled when the product is re-stocked in the shop.
Why do you have pre-orders?
Pre-orders are our way to guarantee you'll receive your board as soon as possible at a great price. In exchange for paying up front for a delayed board delivery, we are offering exclusive pricing on all boards that are currently out of stock.
Pre-order items are products that are currently sold out. We have regular shipments arriving and all orders are shipped in chronological sequence. If your board is not pre-order and available immediately, it will be shipped within 24 hours.
How do I know when a pre-order will arrive?
Our suppliers provide timelines that account for shipping, manufacturing and delivery to us. These dates are listed on the product description pages of each pre-order product. The dates may vary between products depending on the different demand for them. We can't guarantee these dates in case there are changes to them outside of our control, but on the upside we are always making efforts to improve on these dates and deliver sooner! The date shown is the date the order will leave from our warehouse. Once shipped, you will receive an email with tracking information (included for free with every order). Current shipping times may vary, but they are within 2-7 business days anywhere in Canada.
How can I be updated for my pre-order?
We send out regular updates via email for all our pre-order products if there are changes to the estimated delivery date. If you would like to reach out personally at any point along the way, we're always happy to help! Either drop a note into our chat bot, or send us an email to info@canadianboardco for an update.
Everything you need to know before you paddle
Stand Up Paddleboards
Our Ionic stand up paddleboards are designed for stability, durability, and easy paddling for every skill level. From all-around boards to touring and adventure models, each SUP offers premium construction and thoughtful features at a great value.
Below you’ll find answers to common questions about inflation pressure, paddle care, accessories, and choosing the right board for your paddling style.
Why are your prices so low compared to competitors?
We have you to thank for that! While many other retailers have elevated expenses, like store fronts, large teams, and white-labeled products, we’re able to keep our expenses extremely low. An online store allows us to cut out many of the costs that would normally be passed along to customers in the form of higher prices. We’ve essentially cut out the middleman by working directly with reputable brands, and a small local team, so we can pass along the savings to you!
What pressure do I inflate my board to?
All inflatable boards we currently supply are designed to be inflated to 15 PSI.
Do your paddles float?
The paddles supplied in your Radical Kit are 3 piece aluminum paddles designed to be lightweight and collapsible. The tradeoff is that they do not float. They will stay on the surface of the water for a short period of time while water fills into the paddle through any small joints and it will begin to very slowly sink. A lifehack to save your paddle if you are worried about it is to cut a small section of poodle noodle and slip it around the middle of the paddle - out of the way of your hands.
What comes in my board kit?
Everything you need to get started is included in our board kits. The board (of course), a durable roller backpack, a collapsible 3 piece aluminum paddle, leash, hand pump, fin & screw set, and a repair kit.
What you need to purchase separately is your Canadian Approved PFD or lifejacket, and a whistle as per Canada Transport regulations. Both are available as accessories on our site.
How can I decide between a rigid paddleboard and an inflatable paddleboard?
Although there are many reasons to choose one or another, we believe that the benefits of an inflatable paddleboard generally outweighs the benefits of a rigid board in the Canadian climate.
- Storage! An 11' inflatable board will collapse into our roller backpack that can fit in the base of a compact car. It's only 39" x 10" x 15"!
- Cost! You'll save enormous amounts of money going with an inflatable board!
- Durability! A ding or scratch to a rigid can turn into an expensive and costly fibreglass or carbon fibre repair, normally needed to be carried out by a professional. Inflatables are very durable and tough, easily withstand typical scratches or dings, and in a worst case scenario can be simply repaired without any experience!
You may however want to consider a rigid model if you're interested in racing with your board, surfing your board, or want to increase the performance of your board. Generally speaking, rigid models are about 15% faster than it's inflatable counterpart.
How big is my inlfatable when deflated?
The size of a delated board does vary slightly depending of course on the length and width of the model you choose. However all ur boards are all designed to fit inside our durable roller backpack measuring 39" x 10" x 15", roughly.
Dock Days Made Simple
Inflatable Docks & Planks
Our inflatable docks and planks are built for ultimate stability, durability, and fun on the water. Whether you’re creating a floating lounge, a swim platform for your boat, or a base for SUPs and kayaks, these docks set up in minutes and pack away easily.
Below are answers to the most common questions about setup, anchoring, storage, and care.
What are the inflatable docks made of?
Inflatable docks are made of the same durable dual layer of PVC as many of our SUPs. This renders it to be lightweight, transportable, and durable.
Can I anchor my inflatable dock?
Yes! Our larger dock models have d-rings running along the rails of the dock, as well as one d-ring on each corner on the bottom of the docks for anchoring.
Our inflatable planks are designed to be more portable. They do not have bottom d-rings to anchor to the ground.
What comes in my inflatable dock kit?
All our docks and planks come fully equipped with the dock or plank unit, a carrying strap, a dual action hand pump, and a repair kit.
How much weight can my inflatable dock hold?
Our largest model, the 8' by 7' POP Up Dock, can handle up to 1,500lbs of capacity.
How much does the inflatable dock weigh?
Our largest inflatable dock (8' x 7'x) weighs 49lbs and can generally be lifted and carried by a single person when deflated and rolled up.
Do I have to take my inflatable dock out of the water after every use?
No! While your POP Up Dock is designed to withstand long periods in the water, the only thing to keep in mind is the weather. If your dock is anchored in an area subjected to rough weather, you may consider removing it from the water when not in use so that it does not get damanged or float away.
Rover Marine Inflatable Boats
Rover Marine Boats — FAQ
Discover answers to common questions about Rover Marine inflatable boats, including setup, inflation, motors, maintenance, and warranty. Whether you own a Battle Boat or Battle Cat, this guide covers the essentials to help you get on the water faster and keep your boat performing at its best.
Which Rover Marine models do you carry?
We stock the Battle Boat and the Battle Cat, each in 10 ft and 12 ft sizes. Battle Boat uses a traditional inflatable hull; Battle Cat is a dual-pontoon catamaran for extra stability and tracking.
What’s the difference between Battle Boat and Battle Cat?
Battle Boat = traditional hull, great for calm to moderate water. Battle Cat = catamaran hull with enhanced stability, wider deck room, and improved straight-line tracking—ideal when waters get choppier or you’re stepping on/off often.
How much do the boats weigh?
Both sizes hold up to 4 people. Choose 12 ft for more deck space and higher capacity (up to ~1100 lb) and compatibility with higher-power motors; pick 10 ft for lighter weight and easier transport.
10 ft vs 12 ft — which size should I choose?
Approx. 95–105 lb for the Battle Cat (10/12 ft) and 100–110 lb for the Battle Boat (10/12 ft)
Are electric outboards compatible?
Yes—models are compatible with popular electric brands like ePropulsion and Torqeedo. Stick with short-shaft (15") options.
What PSI should I inflate to?
Floor: 10 PSI. Tubes: 3.5 PSI. These pressures apply to both Battle Boat and Battle Cat.
Recommended motor power and shaft length?
Recommended power ranges are 3–10 HP (10 ft) and 3–15 HP (12 ft). Use a 15" short-shaft outboard (gas or electric).
How long does setup take?
With a high-output pump, plan about 10–15 minutes to inflate and fit the floor/seats.
What are they made of?
Military-grade PVC with reinforced seams and drop-stitch flooring for rigidity and durability.
Are these good as yacht tenders?
Yes—both are lightweight, quick to launch, and support outboards for shore runs.
Can I fish or dive from them?
Definitely. The Battle Cat’s wider stance is especially nice for standing to cast or loading dive gear.
How compact is it for storage/transport?
Deflates to roughly 46" × 28–30" × 15", fitting most trunks/SUVs or yacht lockers
