Why Rover Marine Inflatable Boats Outperform Traditional Hulls

Military-Grade Durability

Rover Marine boats are built with reinforced military-grade PVC and high-pressure drop-stitch floors. This construction rivals the rigidity of a hard hull but is tough enough to withstand rocky Canadian shorelines, UV exposure, and the freeze-thaw cycles of our seasons.

Pack-and-Go Portability

Forget the trailer and marina fees. These boats deflate into a compact carry bag in minutes, fitting easily into your RV, truck bed, or cottage closet. It’s the ultimate "launch anywhere" solution that solves your winter storage headache.

Universal Transom Design

Ready for your choice of power. Our reinforced transom is perfectly sized for silent electric outboards (like Torqeedo or ePropulsion) for eco-friendly cruising, but sturdy enough to handle a standard gas outboard (up to 20HP) when you need serious speed or range.

Inflatable Boat Guide: Motors & Regulations

Do I Need a License?

In Canada, if you attach a motor (even a small electric one) to any boat, you are required to have:

  1. Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC): The standard "Boating License."
  2. Safety Gear: PFDs, whistle, flashlight, and bailer (Safety Kit).

Note: You generally do NOT need to "Register" the vessel itself unless it has a motor of 10HP or more, but always check current Transport Canada rules.

Gas vs. Electric: What Should I Buy?

Electric (Torqeedo/ePropulsion):

Ideal for lakes, short trips, and fishing. Silent and maintenance-free. Equivalent to a 3HP gas motor.

Gas (Yamaha/Mercury/Honda):

If you need to cover long distances or fight strong currents/tides, a 6HP to 9.9HP gas outboard is recommended.

Inflation & Transport

The entire boat rolls up into a burrito-sized bag.

  • 8' & 10' Models: Fit easily in a sedan trunk.
  • 12' Model: Best for SUVs or trucks.
  • Inflation Time: Roughly 10-15 minutes using the included high-volume hand pump, or 5 minutes with our Shark II Electric Pump.
