Electric Outboard Motors Built for Canadian Waters

Gas cans, oil leaks, and gummed-up carburetors are a thing of the past. We carry Torqeedo and ePropulsion electric motors because they are built for the reality of lake life. They’re light enough to carry to the dock, quiet enough to have a conversation over, and powerful enough for everything from fishing to ferrying the family.

Whether you’re on an electric-only lake or just tired of hauling fuel to the cottage, these setups are the cleanest way to get on the water.

Better Performance Without the Noise

Small gas outboards are notoriously loud and messy. Electric power changes that. These motors are designed for portability—they pop off the transom in seconds and can be stored in your trunk or cottage closet without the smell of gas lingering for weeks. They pair perfectly with our Rover Marine inflatable boats for a setup that is ready to launch in under 15 minutes.

The Electric Advantage

Near-Silent Trolling

Fish won't hear you coming. These motors are practically silent, making them the best choice for morning fishing or quiet evening cruises.

No Gas, No Oil

Skip the trip to the gas station. Just plug the battery into a standard 110V outlet at the cottage and you're back at full charge by morning.

Reliable Power

No pull-cords or flooded engines. You get instant torque and consistent power the second you twist the tiller.

Easy Storage

There is zero maintenance required. No winterizing rituals or spark plug swaps—just clean, electric power year after year.

Choosing the Right Power Level

The Spirit 1.0 (3HP Equivalent)

This is the standard for most of our 8ft and 10ft inflatable boats. It’s light, the battery floats, and it gives you plenty of push for exploring or ferrying gear.

Navy & Cruise Series (6HP - 9.9HP Equivalent)

If you’re running a 12ft Battle Boat or a heavier tender, you'll want the extra thrust. These systems are built for higher capacities and longer runtimes in open water.

Quick Canada Boating Rules

Boater's License (PCOC)

Even with a small electric motor, you must carry a Pleasure Craft Operator Card while on the water in Canada.

Transport Canada Rules

Vessel Licensing (PCL)

If your motor is 10 hp (7.5 kW) or larger, you are required to license your boat and display hull numbers.
